In Royale e-commerce is simply a ‘pipe’ from the web pages through to the back-office business system. There are no ’downloads’ in either direction, just a seamless link that treats the web as just another call centre operator screen.

This means that every process available in the back-office system is immediately available over the web. Add a new item, change a price, offer some benefit, offer quick addressing from postcode or validate a credit card – all of these are driven from the same program that drives Sales order processing, stock control, accounts etc.

Moreover any other detail that is available to the call centre can be made available to web users. This could include availability and costing of rental material, collecting minor royalties etc.

The e-commerce also contains its own content management system.
